RESUMEN DEL LIBRO: LA CORUÑA TO GIBRALTAR. The character of the Atlantic coasts of Spain and Portugal varies widely between the sheeer cliffs north of Cabo Finisterre and the flat sandy lagoons of the Faro area. Their attraction for the cruising yachtsman is equally variable. The aim of this book its to indicate both the nature of the cruising grounds and harbours of the regions and how they may be approached. Gibraltar is included in this book as it remains an important refuge or staging post for those bound for the Mediterranean or heading south towards the Canaries and beyond. In cruising terms, the Atlantic coast of Spain and Portugal falls naturally into three regions: Galicia: The Rías Altas between El Ferrol and Cabo Finisterre and the Rías Bajas from Fiinisterre to the Portuguese border at the Río Miño. The Portuguese coast from Spanish border south to Cabo de Sao Vicente. The eastward trending cost from to Cabo de Sao Vicente to Gibraltar, (in Portugal the Algarve and in Spain part of Andalucía).
