A journalist and feature writer, her work has been syndicated to newspapers and magazines world wide. She was commissioned to write Pirate Gran after a shorter version of the story won a BBC competition to promote literacy. As a mother and grandmother herself She believes encouraging children to enjoy books is an essential life skill - and reading together is a pleasure parents and children can share.
